I am almost done with my first week of wearing invisalign aligner. The first few days there was some discomfort, but its better now. Is it over, or am I going to have a few days discomfort with each new set of aligners? thanks

Whats the best kind for dealing with the pain after you put on braces?

I have braces on my upper and lower teeth. They change my wires every 6 weeks I go to my orthodontist and for about a week or more I have pretty bad pain and all of my teeth are very sore for over a week. My Orthodontist said he can’t write prescriptions because he doesn’t have a license to. So what am I to do! I need the prescription pain pills because only prescription pain pills will work on me. I’m not a drug addict or anything like that. I have tried every single over the counter pain pills but nothing will help at all. I’ve taken 4 Extra Strength Percogesic, 4 Advil Liquid Gels, 4 Aleves, 4 Aspirins, 4 Tylenols and many more over the counter pain pills but nothing will work. How can I get Prescription Pain Pills for my brace and teeth pain? I know my doctor will not write a Prescription for just brace pain on teeth. Doctors are scared to write prescriptions for people who need them. Who else would write a Prescription for my pain?

I’m getting braces on in 2 days, and know what pain it causes at first. I know wax works great, whats the best pain reliever and other remedies.

I just started my treatment with invisalign yesterday and was wondering if anyone else ever had a hard time with removing the aligners. It seems like as soon as I do – they hurt so much more – and even though I only take them out for long enough to eat and brush – it hurts so much to put them back in. Will I get use to it?

Hi, I’m 14 and got braces yesterday. I thought they were putting bottom and top brackets on (that’s what my parents told me), But Instead I got 8 spacers, 10 brackets on top, and the top wire. I really need help. I’m so sore, and in so much pain. My back bracket on the right side is lose and is poking me a lot ( l put wax on it). If a barely touch my teeth it fells like someone is hammering them. Same thing on the bottom cause of my spacers. I’m having braces for 2 years, and if they stay this way I can’t handle it! I have a high pain tolerance except for my teeth. I get my bottom braces on thursday and then have appointments every six weeks ( there self ligating InOvation braces ). After every appointment I figure skate for six hours, then pain was so bad it screwed with my jumps and spins! Tell it gets better!!! I take IB profen but it doesn’t numb it! I’m 5’4 1/2” and 86 pounds ( i’m under weight but not from a disorder, i have a very high metabolism ) so I can’t lose any weight, all i’ve eaten today is a small ice cream bar! Even soft food hurts, I tried to eat powdered donuts last night and I almost cried! So I put them in small peaces and dropped them in the back of my mouth and just swallowed, even that still hurt. THe dentist didn’t put the wire in so I don’t think they were tightened, why are they killing me! Please give me advice!!! Any special medications?
P.S. I got clear on top and am getting metal on bottom, does metal hurt worse!?!?!? And I’m sorry it’s so long!

My braces hurt so bad when I get them tightened and I have tried technically everything. What do yall do when your braces hurt?
