First, you need to take enough college ‘undergraduate’ classes to where a Dental school will accept you as their student, then, you need to fulfil the Dental school’s undergraduate requirements, then, you need to attend Dental school to become a dentist, and then you need to study to become an orthodontist.
My recommendation is that you ask a local high school guidance counseller where the nearest Dental school is, and then ask that Dental school for a list of their admissions requirements and for a list of other nearby Dental schools.

Invisalign is like a retainer. Does any body know what kind of insurance you will need to get them?
I live in Florida if that helps..
Thanks,

I have braces for a year & a half now and sometimes this problem occurs and then stops. The metal edges on the braces keep on like touching my inner mouth and it scrapes it in there. And it hurts really bad. What can I do?

I’m getting my braces off in a few weeks, and I was just wondering – what kind of retainer do you have to wear after? I have some friends who had to wear permanant retainers, while others wore some that they had to wear 24hr/day, and others who just wore an invisible one at night.
Obviously, an invisible one just worn at night would be preferable. But I was wondering what kinds of retainers people wore immediately after getting braces off and for how long?
Thanks!

Say my insurance doesn’t cover braces. Seeing as how the average cost of braces is around $5K (correct me if I’m wrong), what kind of payment plans are there? I’m specifically looking for low monthly payments even if it is over a long period of time because my family is on the lower-bracket for income.
And while we’re on the subject, does anyone know if braces are covered at all by Medi-Cal for California residents? Thanks.

My frontal incisor and cuspid in front of my lateral incisor. This means one of my teeth are pushed behind the others. What kind of options do I have with braces? How long does something this drastic take to fix?
