The ortho told me not to.. its my first day and the bottom tooth that is the most crooked really kills. It feels like someones drilling into my tooth!

Not as much as a wedgie.

I have very sensitive teeth so I want to know…Also, how do they attach the braces to the teeth? Do they glue them on or something or do anythign to the tooth?

Hi! My daughter Lindsay which is 9 years old, just got 4 braces on her top front teeth. She says they hurt when she touchs them or when she tries to eat. How long will it take for them to stop hurting. She is only 9 so I wasn’t sure if it was hurting because she is younger or if will effect her differently or what.

I just got my braces tightened this afternoon and my teeth hurt really badly. I cant eat! When i got home i took an Alieve and it didnt work! What do i do?

I am VERY excited to announce that I am getting dental braces in early 2009 (no date decided yet)! I wanted to find out…. What makes your dental braces hurt “like h*ll” on the first day that you get them/the day you get them? Is it keeping your mouth open for so long? Is it the unusual feel in your mouth that you suddenly feel? Is it the tightness of the wires? I don’t understand!

I am getting my invisalign for the first time next week. The day after I get them I am going on vacation. How long will my teeth hurt for after wearing them for the first time? Anyone who has had or has them please let me know! I can wait till I get back from my vacation to start wearing them if I have to. If I start wearing them the day before my vacation will I be sorry? Im getting clear sapphire braces in 2 weeks time. Because they are clear my orhtodontist says I need to come in for appointments more frequently – every 5 weeks or so. Thats not the problem, the brackets are not self ligating and so he’ll have to put elastics and stuff on them, and I heard that hurts.
Can anyone tell me what happens at the checkups and how much it hurts? And how soon will I notice my teeth moving?
