I wanted to use the FSA account at my work to put pre-tax pay into to pay orthodontics for my 15 yo son so that I don’t have to pay taxes on that money. But if I cannot deduct it because I rent and don’t have enough deductions can I still do that? I do file singe head of household. I only have one child. Does anyone know what that deduction amount is that I would need to reach if that is what I must do? Thank you for your help.

I have read the IRS Form 502 which indicates 7.5% of income is required to get any credit & we pay quite a bit for my families insurance through work. This coupled with our deductibles and my son’s orthodontics may put us there.

Yes, many dental insurances will cover a part of your
orthodontic costs. Beware of the waiting periods for
any ortho work though. There are other plans that
will cover orthodontic work without waiting periods too,
see below.

does fidelis health care cover orthodontics. i want to get my crooked teeth fix especially on the bottom where my tongue, can;t resist playing with the two teeth that are a little inside

Most health insurance plans do not cover orthodontia, but some dental plans do. The amount of the benefit varies greatly from plan to plan.
Your best bet is to speak to human resources or your benefits coordinator and see what your school system offers.

Unfortunately no, unless a person is very poor, in which case they can get some free dental care, otherwise we have to pay for it and it’s very expensive.
Hence us ‘brown-toothed’ Brits.
There is a way to get ‘free’ dentistry here in London but it means signing up with the Guy’s Hospital Dental School. They do dental work for free, but it’s done by students with a qualified dental surgeon on hand etc.

Here in UK our UK-State Pension is one of the worst in the world, not just in the EU. I’m a UK pensioner and know what I’m talking about. Thankfully I also have a company pension and the two together make it possible for me to live reasonably well, that plus lots of lifetime savings etc = three holidays abroad each year – so far Paris and the Algarve and in Sept me and she who must be obeyed are off to Crete where we will probably drink far too much ouzo.

Like people have been telling me that MAss Health doesn’t cover invisalign,,,and also regular braces and the price for clear braces///…
I’m going to see my family and i just don’t wanna show them my ugly teeth with metals on them.
