first off you must do 4 years undergrad in college
you have to take the prereqs which are
General Chemistry 1
General Chemistry 2
Organic Chemistry 1
Organic Chemistry 2
General Biology 1
General Biology 2
Microbiology
Anatomy and Phys. 1
Anatomy and Phys. 2
Calculus 1
Physics 1
Physics 2 (preferbally calculus based physics)
Biochemistry makes you look good
After you are done with your bachelor’s degree and have taken all the required courses you have to worry about getting accepted into dental school …. which is actually becoming harder to get into than med school.
When in dental school it takes 4 years, then you have to apply to an orthodontist school which is about 2 more years of college. Which is probably the most selective specialty. Basically you have to graduate on the top of your dental school class to be considered.

I got braces a few months ago. I went to the dentists for the first time in 6 months today and he said that drinking gatorade and powerade and other drinks like that is bad but he didn’t really specify all the different kinds or anything. So I was wondering if things like juice, coffee, lemonade, etc… are okay to drink.

What do they do? My other dentist noticed I had an under-bite and said braces could fix it, but my teeth are naturally straight, the only problem is my under-bite. I’ve never been to an orthodontist before so what do they do? Do take clean your teeth, take pictures, etc?

like during the treatment, while at home you lose your aligner? if you go back to doctor for a new one, do they charge you extra money to replace it ?

I’m going to get my first trays of invisalign tomorrow, I have had spacers in since last tuesday. They don’t hurt anymore at all, and i can’t even feel them. Will my orthodontist take them out then, or wait until they fall out? If it’s wait till they fall out, how will they do that wil plastic trays on top of them?

I’m thinking about getting Invisalign instead of the traditional braces. I have an overbite thats kind of major, so would they be able to fix this?
and I’m having a hard time understanding the treatments. Are there only two treatments? express treatment for minor and full treatment?
If i get the full treatment, can I cancel anytime I want to? or do I have to stick with it until the end results? thanks!

Does every ortho make you wear a PERMANENT glued in retainer for the rest of your life on your bottom row of teeth if you had braces there? Because the ortho in my town has that as his “specialty”. And also, why do you think he does?

people with normal braces arnt supposed to do it, what exactly would happen if you did chew gum with invisaligns in.

I went to the ortho a few weeks ago, and got my braces. he said on that day that in 6months if i hadn’t lost my last baby tooth that he would “help it along” There is a tooth under it that is coming in so why would he say this?
