I just got rubber bands w/my braces today, but they didn’t tell me how often i am suppose have them on. Are you only suppose to wear them for 2-3 hours a day or what? Can i sleep with them on? if not, y?

There’s this little key, though it doesn’t have any teeth, it’s just like a tiny straight rod. He said you have to stick it in through the two bars and turn it or something confusing like that. He drew a diagram, too, but it doesn’t make any sense.

I normally wear the really thin rubber bands that are nice and loose. (the ones with the seal on it) My orthodontist asked if I had the fish kind..so I assumed she meant the seal kind. It turns out that my rubber bands are a lot thicker than the ones I should be wearing. Will this make a huge difference and mess up my teeth?
