Today I got some elastics around one of my teeth to make a gap to be able for, when I get my braces on in two weeks, the wire to go around the teeth instead of on it because I have a filling in that tooth. It feels strange like its going to fall out but I know it probably won’t and it’s making my tooth feel numb. How long will this numbness last?x

I know that after braces, you wear retainers, but isn’t that just for holding the position of your teeth? If so, how does your jaw/bite stay in place after taking off the elastics then?

i have two questions my first one is are orthodontics elastics the same thing as Teeth Effect Bands aka Dental Rubber Bands and if i want them do i need any prescriptions from my dentist/orthodontist or can i just buy them and put it on because i have a slight gap between my two top teeth
oh and also can i use it for my bottom teeth too ?

What’s the difference between getting braces and getting braces with elastic bands?
