You don’t get a diploma in orthodontics, its a subspecialty. You can obtain a certificate of additional credentialling but thats not a diploma/degree.

In the U.S.
4 year program to be a general dentist, then followed
by a 2 year program (also aggressive 1 year programs)
to become a specialist, like Orthodontist, endodontist, oral sugeron, etc.

I was wondering what braces are used for, besides straightening your teeth. I heard that they can be used to correct an incorrect bite, which is a cause of tmj.

can anyone tell me different types of brackets and show me pics of them. my brackets are so weird. they have like a pin holding the wire onto them. they arent self ligating brackets i looked those up and they look nothing like that. they look cheap. i hate them. the pin goes straight up from bottom of the tooth to the top. idk… hard to explain. someone help me please

I tend to chew on my retainer (like what some people do w/ their mouth piece). I have the clear retainer (sort of like invisalign); I want to know if I can go to another Orthodontist to get another retainer or do I have to keep on going to same Orthodontist.
