Orthodontia, there is such a high demand for this in India, it is unbelievable.

Not always!!……because sometimes orthodontic treatment has to be given due to functional reasons…..because when the teeth dont meet in proper alignment, it affects masticatory efficiency and that’s why in such cases orthodontic treatment is undertaken ……….though, cosmetics might not be a problem in these cases.
I hope you get my point !!

The answer I found on the Internet was “las gomas,” but I know that word usually refers to rubber bands.

Unfortunately no, unless a person is very poor, in which case they can get some free dental care, otherwise we have to pay for it and it’s very expensive.
Hence us ‘brown-toothed’ Brits.
There is a way to get ‘free’ dentistry here in London but it means signing up with the Guy’s Hospital Dental School. They do dental work for free, but it’s done by students with a qualified dental surgeon on hand etc.
If you ever plan to move to Europe, I think you should go and live in France, their healthcare is way above the rest of us – see link below.http://www.nyu.edu/projects/rodwin/frenc…
The above link compares the US to the French healthcare systems.
Here in UK our UK-State Pension is one of the worst in the world, not just in the EU. I’m a UK pensioner and know what I’m talking about. Thankfully I also have a company pension and the two together make it possible for me to live reasonably well, that plus lots of lifetime savings etc = three holidays abroad each year – so far Paris and the Algarve and in Sept me and she who must be obeyed are off to Crete where we will probably drink far too much ouzo.
