Hi, I’m 14 and got braces yesterday. I thought they were putting bottom and top brackets on (that’s what my parents told me), But Instead I got 8 spacers, 10 brackets on top, and the top wire. I really need help. I’m so sore, and in so much pain. My back bracket on the right side is lose and is poking me a lot ( l put wax on it). If a barely touch my teeth it fells like someone is hammering them. Same thing on the bottom cause of my spacers. I’m having braces for 2 years, and if they stay this way I can’t handle it! I have a high pain tolerance except for my teeth. I get my bottom braces on thursday and then have appointments every six weeks ( there self ligating InOvation braces ). After every appointment I figure skate for six hours, then pain was so bad it screwed with my jumps and spins! Tell it gets better!!! I take IB profen but it doesn’t numb it! I’m 5’4 1/2” and 86 pounds ( i’m under weight but not from a disorder, i have a very high metabolism ) so I can’t lose any weight, all i’ve eaten today is a small ice cream bar! Even soft food hurts, I tried to eat powdered donuts last night and I almost cried! So I put them in small peaces and dropped them in the back of my mouth and just swallowed, even that still hurt. THe dentist didn’t put the wire in so I don’t think they were tightened, why are they killing me! Please give me advice!!! Any special medications?
P.S. I got clear on top and am getting metal on bottom, does metal hurt worse!?!?!? And I’m sorry it’s so long!

Im getting my braces off in a few months and my orthodontist said something about the plastic retainer, so I was wondering: after you get your braces off do you get the hawley (plastic) or essix (wire)? is it possible to only get the hawley or do you have to get the essix eventually?
What did you have (recently pls.)?
ps. I have the “self ligating ‘damon’ braces, the box ones that dont need the rubber bands to hold the wire in place

I wont be seeing my dentist for months because I had to come to England, and I have to go to the US soon. My dentist is in the Philippines. I have self-ligating braces on, and my dentist says it should be okay even if I am not able to visit her regularly. But one of the brackets got loose, it is not broken though.
Do you think a new dentist will agree to fix it for me? Because I am aware some dentists do not touch patients who are under treatment with another dentist.

okay so i went to the ortho. today and they told me i have to get braces=/…. can someone tell me about what foodsI’mm not gonna be able to eat …… and I’m afraidI’mm gonna look like a brace face are there any stylish braces out there ? ive been looking at Self Ligating Braces
are they good? and can they have colored brackets?

I got a pair of self ligating braces a few months ago- soon i’m due to get the wire replaced anyaway. These things have been a disaster- a few weeks ago the adhesive spacers on my teeth fell off, and just today my bracket third from my back tooth came loose! It’s no longer connected to my tooth but it is to the wire, and im worried while I sleep or something it may come off and I could inhale it/ aspirate and die. Im calling the ortho tomorrow, but I need to know- is there a possibility that it will come off the wire? What should I do until the doc can see me? Thanks for your help in advance.

I am getting braces soon and want to know if these self-ligating braces will stain?

can anyone tell me different types of brackets and show me pics of them. my brackets are so weird. they have like a pin holding the wire onto them. they arent self ligating brackets i looked those up and they look nothing like that. they look cheap. i hate them. the pin goes straight up from bottom of the tooth to the top. idk… hard to explain. someone help me please

hi everyone, i was just wondering- my sis is due to be fitted wih damon self ligating braces with dentalign in slough- anyone had treament from here and got opinions about the work they do? are they generally very good with damon braces? any opnions or reviews would be apreaciated, thanks

I am Using P-gal4 mediated enhncer trap system to Identify genes exprssed in drosophila devlopment. I am using the self ligated Plasmids with P-Gal4 along with Few genomic sequences.

I’ve had a brace (standard self-ligating Damon brace) on my top teeth for a week and a half how. Because my teeth are moving around, I’m adjusting to the bite. On most of my teeth, when the tooth has pressure on it, there’s a slight, painless cracking sensation at the top of the teeth.
The conclusion I’ve came to is that it may be the osteoclasts deep at work, and that it’s supposed to happen.
Am I right?
