   go to a university and study dentistry then you can specialize to become an orthodontist.

   To become an Orthodontist, first you need to get your Bachelors, preferably in something like Biology, then you have to go to Dental School for 3-4 years to become a General Dentist, then you have an additional 2-3 years of school to specialize in Orthodontics. you don’t need to get a dental assisting diploma at all, but I personally think its a great idea to work as a dental assistant first, since, as you can see, it’s a large commitment, and you need to be sure that’s what you want to do for the rest of your life. You could also intern at a local Orthodontists office, which might count as college credit. Hope that helped, and good luck!

   No need to do assisting first. You need to go to a general college and study a science related field, like chemistry or biology. Get your bachelor’s degree. You will then need to take the DAT and apply to dental school. After 4 years of dental school, you will do 3 more years to specialize as an orthodontist.

   You first need college degree. With that degree you need to take the proper math a science courses. Then you need to graduate from dental school. You then apply to a post graduate program for orthodontics. These programs only take dental students who graduate in the top 1-2 on their dental class.
