How Many Visits To The Orthodontist Before Braces?

Im going in for my first visit at the end of this month.
I am going to be getting x-rays. Any idea how many more visits until I get the actual braces?

The will take impressions of your mouth for a retainer and headgear most likely and fit you with bands in the back of your teeth. That will be at least 2 visits there. Once they decide to put the braces on that will be a third visit and then you will be seen routinely after that. It all depends though on what route your orthodontist takes with your teeth.
I had 2 visits before the braces were fitted, one for the X rays and impressions and the second to make some final adjustments to the braces before I got them on the 3rd appointment
It all depends on what needs to be done and what appliances your orthodontist will need to put on your teeth. I am in the process of getting braces and at my first visit (Feb.
they did the x-rays and molds, two weeks later I went back to discuss treatment and payment options. I had to get extractions (through my regular dentist) and I go back this week for spacers and then next week for braces (Mar 29). You are probably like me and just so eager to get them on. Just be patient. My orthodontist wanted me to wait 2 weeks after extractions before they did spacers and I was so upset, but then I found out a week later that he was gonna be out of time so I am waiting 3 weeks. Some people only have 2 visits and get braces while others have to have several visits. Make sure you see at least one or two more orthodontists besides the one you are seeing since treatment and payment options may vary. Email me if I can be of further help. I wish you the best of luck.
I only remember 2 visits before I actually had the braces put on. The first visit was xrays, the second visit was pictures and impressions and the third visit was actually having the braces put on. My teeth were straight but I had slight spaces so I only wore my braces for 16 months.
This may change depending on the problems with your teeth. My son went to the Orthodontist the first time where they took x-rays and an impression of his teeth. Then when he was ready the second time they took an impression of the roof of his mouth so they could make an expander for him. This was put in 2 weeks later, cranked daily for a week or so, then the locked in. He didnt get any braces on his teeth until a few months later and only on the top teeth. The expander came out after 6 months. And the bottom braces were put on at that time.
Remember to take a pain reliever before your visit to the ortho or shortly after to help with any pain or discomfort.
Haha, I just got braces, so I can help you here. My first visit they did x-rays. Your next visit, they may do your face shots (to see what your face looks like – kind of like mug shots) and they may do your mold as well.
For me, they did a mold so that I could have a bionator to widen my jaw first. I wore it for about 6 months with a check up every month to mark my progress, and then my dentist decided I was ready for braces. I think it really just depends on how crooked your teeth are. Whatever the case, I’m sure you’ll be fine, so don’t worry about it too much =)
I went to the detist and they took a look at my teeth. it was my first visit and i went to them for a consultation to see if i was even a good candidate for braces. The dentist shouted out nunbers to his assistant took a look in my mouth once more while i was laying back on the dentist chair. It seemed like he immediatly knew what i needed. The assistant came in and went over the financial part with me after we sorted that out they made my appointment to give me molds. My teeth are all pretty straight for the most part and the only space is in between my two front teeth. My question today i guess would be, do you think its possible that they are going to do the mold xray and braces all on one vistit. Im really excited to get my gap closed and i just really want to be prepared for my visit.
