How Do I Go About Getting My Braces Off?

I got my braces on my senior year of high school (17y/o). I had stopped visiting my orthodontist years ago because of money. I am now 22 years old and I just want them off. How should I go about doing this and how much would it cost me?

Call around. Not all dentists will do this, but you should not be afraid to ask if they do it, and how much they charge. Also, the orthodontist who put them on should be willing to take them off even if you can’t pay. It’s sort of a legal obligation. Just tell them you don’t have the money, and you need to stop treatment.(They already know, and should have contacted you to suggest removal to prevent the problems associated with lack of supervision.) You were a minor when they were placed, but you aren’t now. Good luck.
