How Can I Get Braces When I Can’t Afford Them But Need Them?

My family is in a struggle now with my mom on chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is $20,000 and right now we can’t afford braces but I need them now. Is there any program or something that can help me and my family pay off for my braces or close? I know you can’t get money off trees and people but were a family in need and I was just wondering? Any advice/tips? Our insurance doesn’t cover orthodontic stuff. Thanks!

  1. there is no foundation that i’m aware of, unfortunately. my family was in the same boat, and since braces are ‘cosmetic’ (i even have TMJ which is a condition where the plates in my jaw overlap, click and hurt a lot) and my insurance still wouldn’t cover it. i’m so sorry that your family is going through a rough time, and i hope everything works out for all of you. the only thing i can think of is to go somewhere that will allow you to pay low payments. if you’re of working age, you may need to get a job (if you’re younger, you could babysit after school and on weekends) and you could pay them off with small monthly payments. best of luck to you!

  2. Most places here in Ireland offer payment plans, i.e they let you pay off as the treatment goes on.
Could you afford to pay them off gradually?
