Do You Think Its Right In The State Of Texas For The Orthodontist Assistants To Do All The Work.?

Now does the orthodontist put the braces on or the assistant is supposed to, because where I work the assistants is supposed to be doing everything also ligature wires like pulling the teeth. Also measuring the brackets. Please tell me all the duties what the assistant is suppose to be doing? Thank you for your opinions.

If you are a cert Dental asst. you should have been taught your “scope of practice”. You need to look it up on a CDA website, or check with TDH. I know PAs, Nurses, and MAs are allowed to do some procedures under the direction of a Phy. May be the same in Dental. I would check, you don’t want to be doing something outside your legal scope. In the end, it is you that will pay!
