If you do get braces you are responsible for seeing your regular dentist every 6 months for routine checkups and cleanings. From there, they will take x-rays and determine what is really taking place with your teeth. Usually then the dentist will determine how bad the teeth are and recommend an orthodontist for braces or he/she may already be an orthodontist and can do them for you. One strong suggestion though, please make sure that you 'shop around' for a reputable dentist/ortho, and check out the price differences as well. You'll be amazed at the cost differences!!
