Ok so my mom is taking me to an orthodontics appointment soon and I have a speech problem. (I can’t say ch sounds, sh sounds and g sounds) I was wondering if braces will help or “cure” this problem.

That may or may not be a problem with your teeth. the lips, tounge, mouth, and respiratory system can also contribute to speech problems. CHeck out this website for more info. http://kidshealth.org/teen/diseases_cond…
Well, you ARE going to see an orthodontist in person soon, so I’m not sure how much better internet laypeople who can’t even see your mouth can help you. Don’t be surprised if he/she asks you to see a speech pathologist in conjunction with orthodontic treatment.
Braces could well fix that, however i think it should be a speech therapist you should be seeing.
Sorry. I have a slight lisp and braces didn’t fix it. They only straighten your teeth. And they hurt soooo much.
I believe it can help. I guess you’ll find out, since you need the ortho anyway.
I don’t think anything would cure this problem. I think it’s just how you are.
maybe
try going to speech class. the way your teeth align shouldn’t COMPLETELY effect how you talk
yes, because its your teeth that makes those problems. so once thier straight it will be okay (:
Yes, my daughter had a speech issue because her tongue constantly pushed her front teeth forward making a gap so the teeth never closed and touched each other. Our orthodontist told us all about it – we had never figured it out. They called it an “open bite” and said that closing it would really help. It did! Of course, you may have a different issue, but I would listen to what the orthodontist says. We did also have her do speech therapy along with the braces, to retrain the tongue. Best wishes.
no but speech class will
doubt it
