  1. A periodontist is a gum specialist.
An orthodontist is a dentist who specializes in alignment correction via braces.
    A pedodontist is a children’s dentist.
An endodontist is a root canal specialist.

  2. Periodontics – this is a dentist pertaining to the tissues around the tooth. – so this would be the dentist that includes the gums.
Orthodontics – deals with corrections needed to be made with the teeth
    Pedodontics – deals with children
Endodontics – deals with inside the tooth, pulp, root canals.

  3. periodontists deal with the gingiva (gums and underlying structures)
orthodontists deal with malocclusion and straightens teeth
Pedodontists (pediatric dentists) deal with children with primary and mixed dentition
Endodontists do root canal therapy procedures….they deal with the tooth pulp.

  4. you need to see a periodontist, but first you should go to your regular dentist to see if you really need a specialist, maybe they can help.

  5. See a dentist first and then they will recommend to you if it is necessary to see a periodontist. Some gum problems can be fixed with a good cleaning and special mouthwash.

  6. Call your dentist and ask; you’ll get a much better answer than on here.
