   After high school
   BS or BA in undergraduate college 4-5 years
   DDS in dental school 4 years
   MS in postgrad school in orthodontics 2 years

   I believe you need a four year degree from an accredited university, then apply to dental school. After that, you do a residency to specialize, kind of like medical school. I am not sure how long residency is, but dental school is about 3-4 yrs, depending on where you go.
