What Happens When Your Turn Your Expander More Than The Orthodontist Said To?

I have not done it, but I’m just wondering what would happen if you “turn” your expander more than the doctor said too?
Would the treatment speed up?
Would it cause something to happen in your teeth?
Any ideas?

  1. i dont think anything too bad would happen,
i had a palate expander for six months and i just got it off like two months ago.
i’m pretty sure your mouth would just feel a little more sore than it should,
and your mouth might grow into it weird,
    but nothing too serious.
    i hope that helped :]

  2. About six months ago I turned my palate expander like 5 extra times because I forgot how many times I was supposed to do it and when I told my orthodontist he said that it was fine. According to him, because it was only five extra turns it actually speeded up my treatment time. Now I just got my braces off and my teeth have never looked better.
