What Aesthetic Effects Do Braces Have On The Face?

In more extreme cases.
In particular, do they widen the jaws and make your cheekbones more prominent? My Dad’s lower jaw is shaped like Brad Pitt’s are. My brother also shares this trait. He literally has Johnny Depp’s cheekbones. It’s in the genes. Mine are like this – only not as prominent or visible. But the shape is there. It’s only like they’re caved in or restricted from going into the full shape they were meant to be in because of my badly arranged teeth.
I have misaligned teeth, with crowding and the dentist told me my jaws were very narrow and I definitely need braces. My teeth are very badly arranged. No idea why. My parents and siblings all have straight teeth. I’m getting braces soon. What effects they have on the face? And will they make my jawline stronger and cheekbones more prominent? Stupid question maybe but I’d like to know what sort of effects I can expect braces to have on my face. Thank you.

  1. I’ve had braces on for 9 months now and I started off with really really crooked and messed up teeth. My jaws were (kinda still are a little bit) much too narrow and I had a horrible overbite. I haven’t even gotten halfway through my treatment and I already have noticed quite a difference in my jawline and a little bit of a diferent with my cheekbones, definantly an improvement. :) You’ll probably have some improvement, but I obviously can’t tell you how much.

  3. my jaw and cheekbones became much shapelier and more attractive after I got braces and I honestly believe that It was the best money my parents ever spent on me.
