Should I Get Braces Or A Retainer With Veneers?

I Have completed Phase 1 of orthodontics and with an expander, braces, and a retainer. I have four gaps in my upper jaw still, one of them being between my two front teeth. I have to option of getting a full set of braces on both jaws for about a year or I could get a retainer plus veneers on my canines. My teeth are in good shape; this procedure would be just for cosmetics, not for functions.
Why dont you just get the braces. You do realize that once you get veneers you are stuck for the rest of your life. If you lose the veneer or you cant afford to get it replaced then your just SOL. Youll probably get rid of the gap with age and your canines are probably fine as well. People are so vein nowadays.
