Lost My Retainer. Will My Orthodontist Make A New Mold Or Use The Original One To Get Replacement Retainers?

I lost my retainers and uhhhhh I wanna know if they will make a new mold of my teeth or if they kept the old one. Pretty much, yeah. Help me please.
Well, when I broke my retainer after the first week, my orthodontist made a new mold for me even though we had the first mold we made ( which was taken about 2 weeks before I received my first retainer ). I’m not sure why he did it, made me and my family pretty angry because he charged a lot more than the first molding. Hopefully your orthodontist won’t do the same.
Depends upon how long ago the original one was made, as they do periodically take new impressions….either way, it will cost you some bucks and your folks will want to strangle you!
Hint: When you get your new one: Put your first name and a phone number on the inside of the case with a permanent marker, like a Sharpie….you may wind up getting it back that way!
