I have a overbite that’s not too bad but its been 6 months since i got my braces on and they havent given me elastics or headgear or anything. So im wondering if they start working on your overbite after your teeth are aligned, or during it?

My son has braces. He has had them for a year this November. They are just now really starting on the overbite. At the beginning they had to pull two teeth on the top due to overcrowding. He has no headgear, but he does have a bar that connects from one side to the other on the roof of his mouth. I think it is called an arch bar. I noticed an improvement in the overbite when they first pulled his top teeth. I can hardly notice it now. We had rubber bands only a short time. Just hang in there, it won’t be long until you really see a change. If you do not have a picture of you when you started, take one now so you can look and see the changes in your teeth. Other people can see the changes, it is harder if it is you to see them. Good Luck
If the overbite is not severe then I think you will not need headgear. Elastics they will give after you teeth are bit aligned. For more information on dental topics you can visit the following very informative websitehttp://www.identalhub.com/index.aspx
