How Does The “getting Gaps Put In” At The Orthodontist Work?

Ok, just preparing myself for when I have to get the gaps put in, I now know that they put them things between your teeth, but HOW is it done? Just by pure force? Please don’t tell me it’s more needles lol.

Huh? Are you talking about spacers / separating bands which are used to create room to have molar bands put on for braces? If so, there’s generally two types, metal hinged things and rubber bands. I don’t know how the hinged ones are done, but with the rubber spacers, they simply stretch them out with floss until they’re super thin and then slide them in between your teeth, as if they were flossing.
As the bands go back to their normal shape over the space of a few days, they will force your teeth apart. There are no needles involved and this procedure does not hurt, but I personally found the movement of the teeth after wards to be the most painful part of braces.
They put spacers, which could be rubber or metal – most likely rubber, by pushing it really hard between your teeth like a piece of thick dental floss.
You feel a little pressure and they don’t hurt THAT bad. I only had to wear mine for 2 weeks.
Just take advil.
well i had to get 8 put in, whcih is a lot. they get this threader looking thing and slide them in between your teeth. it doesnt hurt at first, just like you have something stuck in betwen your teeth. take an aspirin when you get home because it will hurt BAD the next day
