How Do I Ease The Discomfort From My Invisalign Aligners?

I have had my first set of aligners for 5 days now. Everything has been going smoothly, except for a head ache from the pressure on the first day. However, this morning I woke up to some irritation on the soft tissue of my mouth. It seems that the edge of the bottom aligner (at the front) has caused some mirco- cuts on the soft tissue (inside below my lips, which covers and has contact with my teeth) opposite from my teeth and aligner. It aligners must have been rubbing up against them to cause it. What do I do to ease the irritation and prevent it from getting worse?

  1. Have your dental office smooth on the trays a bit. It’s no biggie and will only take a minute to do.

  2. I had the same problem and it eventually goes aways, but I used dental wax. It is normally for braces to stop sharp edges from scraping the inside of your mouth. It is really cheap and comes in strips so you pull off a strip and stick it to the sharp edge in your mouth. you won’t feel the scraping and cutting any more.
