Do The orthodontics Change Your Brackets Every time You Go To Get Your Braces Tighten…Or How Often Do They Change Your Brackets Because I Went To Get Them Tighten For The First Time And They Moved My Brackets To My Last Teeth In The Back…So How Often Do They Replace Them Or Do They Do That Every time You Go To Get Them Tighten

  1. No, they do not change the brackets.
    They change the ligatures. Sometimes even the wire. But, for me the wire on top has never been changed. I have had braces for about 10 months, bottom one has been changed. The orthodontist may say that a powerchain is needed or that you need to wear elastics.

  2. they tighten them pretty much every time, just let them worry about it


  3. They remove the archwire, rebend it a tiny bit, and reconnect it to your brackets with new elastics (ligatures). Or, they may put in a different, slightly thicker wire to move things faster. The only time they move a bracket is to re-cement it on if you accidentally pop it off.


  4. They don’t change your brackets. They change the rubberbands on the brackets. These rubberbands come in colors.
