Like the people who actually put on your braces and other stuff, would they be assistants or hygienists.

These people are called Orthodontic Assistants.
They are Orthodontic Assistants and assist the orthodontist with chair side duties for which they are fully trained.
An excellent advice Giver, I suggest that you get your fact’s straight regarding Dental Assistants, we are Fully Qualified having sat our nursing exams, are fully registered with the General Dental Council the same as dentist’s are, and if we didn’t follow the correct Cross Infection Control policy we wouldn’t be allowed to work!
They are dental assistants. Typically they were trained on the job. No certification. Watch them and you will notice most have no idea about infection control. They will reach into draws and supplies with dirty gloves on.
Dental hygienists clean your teeth. Dental assistants assist the Dentist with braces( they get all the instruments the Dentist asks for)
