Question About Navy And Orthodontics?

Im goin into the navy in late august, but i need to get braces fro about 2.5 months, they will be off by the time i leave, but i might have a small wire connecting a couple teeth for another couple months. the braces will be off , al there will be is the wire, will that keep me from getting to ship out?
I had the permanent retainer also. my recruiter told me he thought i would have to have it out to go to basic. so i got it taken out and learned later that i did not have to. i am in the dental field in the army so i know that it is true for the army…navy might be different but i would doubt it. it was put there for a reason.
