How Much Education Needed To Be An Orthodontist?

I was thinking about going to school to become an orthodontist or an assistant. Does anyone know how much schooling is required?
I believe four years of college and four years of denstiry. If you want to specialize in an area that is longer.
A LOT! You have to be very well educated to be an ortho.
