So I just got my braces today, and I was wondering how important it is to floss…
If you have had braces before, or are wearing them now, please tell me about your experiences! Thank you!

you have to floss!
i prefer using this stuff called superfloss, and you can buy it at any drugstore
its like a regular piece of floss except one end of it is a bit thicker and spongy so its good for cleaning larger gaps and stuff
i find it works great and its just like regular flossing, but it does take a little longer. practice, and youll get the handg of it
also use that little brush that your ortho should have given you. its really great to jsut carry around with you when you go out somewhere to eat and stuff. its great for just “flossing” when you are out and dont have the time
by not flossing, obviously you are prone to cavities…but not only that : by not getting the plaque away from the very top of your teeth you can develop gingivitis. in a few days or so you might find your gums actually hurt as well so remmeber to floss really well right at the top of your teeth, and dont be worried if you see blood: its just a sign that that spot is a spot that you should pay abit more attention to
happy flossing!
Important becuase with braces you could easily get more cavities. I got mine yesterday and I couldn’t floss and brush my teeth becuase it was painful. So I didn’t floss but I’m waiting for the soreness to go away for the first 4-7 days so it in the meantime I’m using mouthwash.
Also, you should go buy a smaller brush and softer, it would be easier to brush. I’m getting a new brush today.
Very important to floss, otherwise you’re likely to get cavities in between your teeth, not to mention yellowing and bad breath from food trapped in between your teeth. Take the time to floss them. Just thread the floss through. They also make these floss tips that are reinforced for easy threading.
Very important. It takes longer and is kind of a pain, but with braces food gets stuck everywhere, trust me.
You probably won’t floss because it takes so much longer, but if you do your teeth will thank you!
I had braces and never flossed. I used a waterpick and lots of listerine, though, so I don’t know if that helped. I’ve only ever had one cavity. I would recommend flossing, though, just because every person is different and some people are more prone to the bacteria in their mouth that leads to cavities and a lot of it depends on diet.
pretty important. the braces opens up gaps in your teeth and if you dont clean them. they will turn into cavities. mouthwash works if you dont have time.
i have braces and i floss everyday.
you can get brown holes in
your teeth if you dont. they dont liie
when they tell you you will get rotten teeth.
and they dont tell you to floss to make
time go by. so floss.
